That was a strange way to wake up in the middle of the night.

steveStevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17060896232365651376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5137810012036013226.post-70176375422565462762012-07-23T11:56:38.268-04:002012-07-23T11:56:38.268-04:00Steve,

It is amazing the stuff that happens out there and how your mind processes what's going on as you wake up.

Speaking of radios, we recently lost our old boombox to the sea, as I left a port open and sea spray did the same thing...shorted her out with the power light on, but no functions. That old radio didn't owe me nuthin'.
-ShawnShawn Stanleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05267912099299761613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5137810012036013226.post-67216646044925699942012-07-17T21:04:16.698-04:002012-07-17T21:04:16.698-04:00Jim, according to ActiveCaptain website, the B&...Jim, according to ActiveCaptain website, the B&B & the restaurant have been closed & in disrepair, however most of the reviews from sailors have still been favorable.

The golf carts are still available to run into town for errands.

I'm looking forward to sailing to Belhaven, soon, following in Steve's "footsteps".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5137810012036013226.post-74889619781104392682012-07-17T14:52:28.855-04:002012-07-17T14:52:28.855-04:00This goes back a few years, Steve, so check to see...This goes back a few years, Steve, so check to see if all this still holds, but Riverforest was always a wonderful place. They had golf carts for free loan for trips to town, or just cruising town. They had a buffet that was famous. If you need a night ashore, their B&B is fabulous. Every delivery I made up and down the ICW for a decade somehow managed to arrive at Riverforest just at the end of one day. The seafood buffet was something I've never seen the likes of since. If you call and find all this still holds true, it's a "must" stop. jimAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07571954081390809437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5137810012036013226.post-72929453201682331262012-07-16T11:20:33.555-04:002012-07-16T11:20:33.555-04:00It still beats sitting at a desk.It still beats sitting at a desk.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14950317902951463280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5137810012036013226.post-67058909467696425352012-07-15T20:15:11.065-04:002012-07-15T20:15:11.065-04:00As usual, you offer a very photogenic journal &...As usual, you offer a very photogenic journal & "roadmap".

From my experience on the Neuse & Pamlico Rivers, I can safely say the weather changes "on the half-hour" regardless of what the forecast says.

Looking forward to following in your "footsteps" on my trip to Belhaven.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
