day seven - Beaufort

Beaufort, another dose of nostalgia.  I've been sailing into here for years.  A pretty waterfront town, excellent docks, friendly dockhands, nice restaurants and a coffee shop.  What more could I want?

Head to the dock house to get my batteries charging.  Then to the laundromat at the General Store.  Meet a nice cruising couple from Maine.  The store is not open yet so I can't get change,  the cruisers loan me a stack of quarters to get my laundry going.  We have a nice chat about cruising the beautiful islands of Maine.

Clothes done, I walk along the waterfront.  There's a woman dancing on a dock at the east end of town.  She's wearing ear buds so I can't hear the music.  I sit in a gazebo and watch her leap, spin and step to music only she can hear.  Her dance is filled with joy.

Lunch at Finz on the waterfront, then clean up the boat before heading to the coffee shop to get out of the sun and catch up on the log book.  Spend my second wooden nickel at the Dock House on a beer, dinner on the patio back at Finz.

Windy all day today, with small craft warnings beginning at 10:00 tomorrow.  I think there's an early morning window to get outside and make it to Cape Lookout Bight.
