light

It happens only twice a year, for a few minutes during a few days.  Early March, early September, sunlight slips over the house across the street, in through the blinds, past the bricks of the fireplace and caresses the wall behind the desk.

It reminds me, this time of year, that spring and summer are coming.  In six months it will remind me to enjoy the coming fall, winter is around the corner.

At the right, should you look close, is a barometer.  A gift from a friend, it is treasured.  The glass, as they say, is falling.   A winter storm is coming.
