We went to Ocracoke yesterday on our day off. Boy, Hatteras Inlet has really changed. You can now walk/drive a mile or more out into the inlet, from the Ocracoke side, from where the shoreline was last year.
That pretty cat boat that appeared in one of your photos was for sale on the side of the road. It was sitting on a trailer. Looks in great shape. 6k. I think it has an inboard diesel.
Since it's construction looked so similar to our boat, I called the owner. He is also the owner of the schooner "Windfall II" that charters out of Silver Lake and sailed in 2010's Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race.
I love that little catboat, spent a lot of time admiring it when it was tied to the dock down near the community store.
