I had left Spartina down on the waterfront the evening before so it just took a few minutes to break down the boom tent and motor out of the basin. Mizzen up just a little after 6:30. We rounded into the breeze to raise the main, sails tinted orange by the dawn light. Looking over to the schooner pier I saw the Pilgrim - my wife - out for a run before work. I waved, she waved back. Light but steady breezes, I had the river to myself. Shouldn't every morning be like this?
