Wake a little after 5:00. Find that the wind has dragged SPARTINA back about 10 feet. Still plenty of room between us and the rocks. Whatever the winds were last night, I slept through them. Under mizzen and jib for the short sail across the Thorofare.
Coming into Webb Cove I see Matt and Rossco on TRIM, a reef tucked in the main. Friendly greeting from Matt, and an introduction to Rossco over the water. They are heading west to Vinalhaven.
Next come KMac in his catboat little t. I have seen Kevin for years, the last time might have been when we were the only two to show up for a Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival, one that was cancelled because of an approaching hurricane.
Just around the corner I find Gregory and Eddie, with TUNA, Eddie's dinghy, in tow behind his UNA. It is good to see the guys, been too long. But it was too brief a visit as they head out for Vinalhaven Island and, I suspect, some rough sailing.
I anchor, set up the boom tent and relax in the shade. Put my wool sweater, soaked by spray yesterday, out to dry. Today marks, three weeks on the water, time for a break. And I don't mind missing out on today's gusty winds.
