social distancing SPOT track

Here is the link for the SPOT track.  Or you can copy and paste the url below.

The map is empty now.  Hopefully tracking points - now adjusted to once every five minutes - should begin showing up mid-morning tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Steve, following your track. Cold night out there tonight, 5/11. Be well!

Really enjoy "armchair sailing" with you as I'm stuck at my desk. The new SPOT track tool is great, I can calculate your speed using the distance measuring tool between your 5 minute marks and compare to the wind on the weather maps. You booked across the Pamlico at a good 5+ knots than lost 1/2 a knot as you went into a deeper broad reach to make Mouse Harbor. And I think you just went aground off Bay Point, shaving it a bit too close. I can just imagine the choice words as you jibed out of there...

Is there an unmarked channel at Sow Point (north side of Jones Bay)? You made it through there just fine, skirting the Brant Island Bombing Range. I wonder if years of folks sneaking around the point may have left a channel.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your trip for us deskbound sailors!

Steve, looks like you had a great week. A bit curtailed by TS Arthur, but better safe than sorry. I learned quite a bit about cruise planning just by watching your course - like your dog leg down to South River when you set out from Oriental. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks Tom, it was a great sail. Lots of fun and good weather. Will have to look at the track to see what it looked like. Good to be in before the storm arrives.
