The lighthouse reminds me that I still have to make the trip to Ocracoke from Cedar Island ramp.
Last two years, we were faced with 2-3' waves and 20-25 knot winds on the nose for eight hours on the water. We opted out of the trip.
The beauty of sailing from Cedar Island is that if the weather looks nasty for return trip from Ocracoke, one just rides the ferry back to Cedar Island, and bring vehicle & trailer on ferry for trip to Ocracoke to haul boat back.
