A few photographs from the Martha's Vineyard to Norfolk sail aboard the Picton Castle. If you have followed the Pilot blog you will have seen them already. Just back on shore a couple hours ago courtesty of the Virginia Pilot Association. Haven't had time to look over the shoot yet, and won't for a while. Got to get back to work. steve

loading up
Loading up the dories, bikes, extra hawsers and some machinery onto the Picton Castle.
Wind has swung to the west with touches of blue sky. Wind is forecast to move to the NW and then N throughout the day, perfect for the square rigger. More here.

weather and a reminder
Rain and wind this morning, then a slight clearing. Now more rain and the wind is really kicking up. Glad we are in port. Leave tomorrow around noon.

Vineyard Haven Harbor
Arrived here a little after 3 pm, easy flights to JFK and then Martha's Vineyard. Taxi'd to Vineyard Haven Harbor where we met the Picton Castle at Tisbury Wharf. Very friendly welcome from the crew. And then word that sailing will be delayed for a day because of weather. We'll leave Sunday morning instead of Saturday.
