dog days

The Great Dismal Swamp is burning.  A 5.9 earthquake just shook the ground.  A hurricane is coming up the coast.

Are these really the dog days of summer?

My daughter rode the couch for about 3 seconds here. I was out doing errands and didn't feel a thing. Our backyard neighbors didn't either. Wish I had felt it.

And it looks like Irene may affect us in NJ as well.

Yes, Baydog, I think much of the East Coast will be touched by Irene. Double up the lines, stay dry.

I keep checking out the window for the cloud of locusts...

Locusts tomorrow, pestilence the day after. Hey, what is pestilence? Will I know it when I see it?

Epicenter was just a few miles from us at work. Things falling off the shelves, steel girders wobbling, dust snowing down from the rafters.

Got the new boats outside just in time for the hurricane to start dropping trees on them.

Quite a week so far.
