First day of a four day trip about a decade ago. Put in at Hobucken NC, storms all looked to be tracking to the west of Jones Bay. Cast off, head down Jones Bay towards Pamlico Sound and see this huge dark cloud following. Drop main and jib, anchor in a little cove just as the storm hit. Rained so hard I could not see. Just kept bailing, and bailing. Rain was driving down so hard it would hit the water and kick up a white "fog" a foot or two above the surface of the water. Only seen that one time before. Storm moved on. Bailed, raised sail and headed south. Good times...
