I finally pony'd up the $14.95 for southern Atlantic coast - Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida - charts for my iSailor app. That's beyond an incredibly cheap price when you consider a single NOAA paper chart can cost from $12 to $18.
Certainly won't be using it for navigation but it would work as a backup in case of gps problems. I thought it would be nice to have to do screen shots of anchorage while there, plus evening research as I'm thinking about the next day's sail. The screen shots here, from top to bottom, show Mouse Harbor, Ocracoke and Wysocking Bay, all places I might be visiting in about two weeks.
I've started with the packing - fishing gear last night, clothes tonight. The majority of gear checking/stowing will be this weekend. Can't wait.

You mean Bloodsucking Bay . . . still brings back nightmares.
Over the years I have spent probably five nights there without a problem. There are other places where I have stayed one time with no bugs, then next time eaten alive (Mouse Harbor for one). I always wonder if it is the location or the recent weather (rain) or the humidity. Can never quite figure it out. I'll hope for the best.

I did not know they still made paper charts. I have down loaded the free coast guard charts and printed the sections I wanted at times.
When you use the itunes app does it work on both your tablet and your phone for the one fee? I'm more familiar with android. Have you tried the navionics boating app?
They do still make paper charts, though I have not used them for years. Instead I use chart books, one for Chesapeake Bay and one for coastal NC, plus my gps. I just like the idea of having a set on my phone. I do not know about the iPhone/ipad use of the charts, just use my iPad these days as a kindle reader.
