"let's play two...." *

*The quote is from noted philosopher Ernie Banks.

A wonderful day on the water with the schooners of the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race tied up on the Portsmouth waterfront.

What's not to like?  About 30 schooners and their crews celebrating another run down the Bay.  That is The Pride of Baltimore II in the top photo of this post and the Virginia below.

Somehow I got an invite to a reception on the Virginia and took along Curt, my friend from Richmond, below, as my "date"to the event with great food and drink.

Above and beyond the schooners were a bunch of cruisers in Crawford Bay stopping as they made their way south for the winter.

Then longtime friend and co-worker Scott showed up on the waterfront to join us.

Blue skies, a nice breeze and lots of pretty boats.  It was such a nice day I left the boat at the Waterside Marina and will be back out there tomorrow.  It doesn't get much better than this.  Let's play two.
