less than 24 hours to go

It looks like annual day-before-the-race breakfast for Paul, Dawn, Kristen and Alan.  I'm guessing they'll spend the day packing boats, checking gear and saying hello to fellow ec'ers.  Check out the necklaces that Dawn and Kristen are wearing.  It looks like they are wearing hard-earned rewards from past everglades challenges - shark's teeth and alligator teeth.

Here's an update with specifics on the traditions from watertriber Floatsome....

"Ah, breakfast at the Village Inn, St. Pete Beach. Eggs benedict for Dawn and Kristen (a tradition). Yesterday they also satisfied another tradition: fried chicken at the El Cheapo, Midway, Georgia."

 Thanks, Floatsome

Below is the forecast for tomorrow.  Nice wind out of the east and southeast.  I'm expect they will all be happy with that.  Looks like an excellent day for Paul and Alan to test the new sail on Dawn Patrol.   Dawn has a new sail on her kayak and I'm sure I've seen photos of Kristen using a sail on her kayak in past races.

The photo below is from Day One of the 2008 race, the Dawn Patrol's "test sail."  Not much wind at the time.  I think they will do a lot less rowing and a lot more sailing tomorrow.
